AI Prompt Research Agent Skill
Find the questions people ask ChatGPT about your market, how often each is asked compared with the others, and which sites the answers cite.
/ai-prompt-researchAsk your assistant what people ask ChatGPT about your market. It researches real prompts, groups them by what the person wants, and shows where your brand already appears and which sites get cited instead.
Prompt research does not save tracking or collect new answers. When you find prompts worth watching, add them in the app with Track selected on the Prompt Research page.
When to use it
- Before choosing prompts to track.
- When you want prompt ideas for your market.
- To see which sites ChatGPT relies on for your topic.
- To compare interest across a few product categories or use cases.
For example: “What do people ask ChatGPT about invoicing for freelancers, and who gets cited?”
What you get back
A short report with:
- the largest prompt groups and the strongest openings, where many questions come up and your brand rarely appears
- representative prompts for each group
- the domains cited most often in each group, and what kind of source they are, such as review articles, forums or competitor pages
- 10 to 20 exact prompts worth tracking
How to read the results
The questions come from DataForSEO's dataset, built mostly from Google "People also ask" questions. They are not logged ChatGPT prompts, and no one can see how often a question is asked in AI, so the report shows no AI search volume. Prompt data covers US English only.
The prompts and citations come from DataForSEO's dataset, not from answers OpenSEO collected for you. To see dated answers from ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, track the prompts in Prompt Tracking, then use AI Visibility Audit to act on them.
How to get the best result
- Name the product categories or problems you want covered.
- Use short terms such as "crm" rather than long phrases. Long phrases return few prompts.
- Mention competitors you want to watch for in the citations.
Each research call uses usage credits. Results are cached for 24 hours. If you agree, the assistant can also ask ChatGPT the leading prompt directly to check today's answer and the searches behind it, which uses a small amount of credit.
